Putou Shan Island

On Saturday the school paid for us to go on a tour of Putuo Shan Island which is right off Ningbo's coast. How sweet are they?! We went to meet whoever was taking us at the front of the school at 5:30 AM. This guy got out of a van and said "Putuo Shan!" and so we hopped in hoping he was actually our driver. He dropped us at the Ningbo Hotel where we waited for another tour bus to take us. Finally one of the teachers Jenni and her son, Nikki, showed up so we figured we were at the correct place! Then we took a ferry to the Island! On the ferry, this chinese man sitting in front of us was trying to sneak a pic. So of course we posed for a model shoot like we always do. Then we saw him posting the picture to his wechat with the caption "USA girls!" People are so funny.

The tour was in Chinese so we couldn't understand anything they were saying but we had fun anyway! Putuo Shan is a sacred Buddhist Mountain and has lots of temples and places of "good luck". The Chinese culture is so influenced by things that bring good luck or longevity or good health. Like a random rock. It brings good luck. So everyone go touch it!

It means HEART <3

Wait China has a great wall AND a lock bridge?!

The island was BEAUTIFUL and we walked 6 miles around to the different temples. It was basically the same as the Llama temple where everyone brought incense and prayed. We ended at
the 33m tall statue of Guanyin. It was so amazing! There was like a pilgrimage to this lady and for good reason. She is a beaut. But really....Am I in China or India RN?

CHINA CREW.

Jenni was so helpful all day long telling us what things mean and where to go. And Nikki is just the cutest child alive. Such a good day of adventuring and for FREEEEEEEEE. I <3 China.
